Comments:
“Youngblood” is the 1986 film that starred Rob Lowe, Patrick Swayze, Cynthia Gibb, Ed Lauther and Keanu Reeves. The film follows Dean Youngblood, a 17-year old farmhand from rural New York State as he struggles to become a member of the Canadian Hockey Team, the Hamilton Mustangs.
The story revolves around the relationships between the traditional bad guy/brutish player, Carl Racki, played by George J. Finn and Youngblood’s mentor Derek Sutton (Swayze) who is brutally injured by Racki. In the end, Youngblood takes on Racki and is carried off the ice on the shoulders of his teammates in victory.
